Der Hersteller einer netten iPhone-Applikation zur Erstellung von Furzgeräuschenverklagt einen Konkurrenten wegen einer angeblich missbräuchlichen Nutzung des Begriffs “Pull my Finger”. 

Was das genau bedeutet kann glaube ich keiner  so schön erklären wie der Anwalt von des Angeklagten Kevin Houchin:

The phrase “pull my finger,” and derivations thereof, are generally known and widely understood in American society to be a joke or prank regarding flatulence. The prank begins when the prankster senses the deep stirrings of flatulence. The prankster then requests that an unsuspecting person pull [his or her] finger. The prankster extends his index finger to the victim. As the victim pulls the prankster’s finger, his flatulence erupts so as to suggest a causal relationship between the pulling of the finger and the subsequent expulsion of gas. In other words, the phrase “pull my finger” is understood to be a description of the act of passing gas.

Wired.com gibt Microsoft die Schuld:

The browser is stacked with quirks that cause web pages to render differently from all other browsers, and special considerations must be taken by web builders to accommodate users runningIE 6.

Bleibt abzuwarten ob die Emanzipation von IE 6 funktioniert. Einen Preis für das “hehre Ziel des Jahres” hat die Boykottgruppe jedoch nicht verdient: Nutzer zur Installation einer bestimmten Software zu zwingen klingt doch sehr nach Methoden aus Redmond.
